1951 Encouraged by his grandmother, Elton started to play the piano.

1958 He won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music.

1967 His first band was called Bluesology, he changed his name to Elton John (merging the names of saxophonist Elton Dean and Long John Baldry).

1972 Elton John he recorded the concept album Tumbleweed Connection.

1976 He announced he was a bisexual

1984 He married Renate Blauel

1986 He declared to be a homosexual, and not a bisexual as he had previously declared.

1997 Elton John became a Knight

2004. December. Elton John got married to long time boyfriend David Furnish in Windsor, England. After 12 years together, Elton John aged 58 and David Furnish aged 43, were finally legally able to wed since the allows same-sex civil unions after December 5th. Both were dressed in black tuxedoes, Elton wore a white tie and David a black one.
