1939  Elizabeth ’s family moved to the  US  in order to avoid the war in Europe .

1941  Elizabeth  made a screen test at Universal Pictures and she was so beautiful that she got a contract immediately.

1942 Her first film was There's One Born Every Minute

1944  Elizabeth  acted in the film Velvet with the MGM and she became famous.

1950 She married her first husband, Conrad Hilton Jr.

1954 She acted in Rhapsody, Beau Brummell, The Last Time I Saw Paris,  and Elephant Walk.

1957  Elizabeth  was nominated for an Academy Award.

1958 She played the role of Maggie Pollitt in the film Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.  Elizabeth  was nominated again for an Academy Award for best actress.

1960 She received an Oscar for best actress for her role of Gloria Wandrous in the film Butterfield.

1963  Elizabeth  starred in Cleopatra, maybe one of her most significant movies. She met Richard Burton.

1966 She won her second Oscar for the film about Virginia Wolf.

1974 She divorced Richard Burton, and he remarried him in 1975

1976 She divorced Richard Burton (again!!)

1985  Elizabeth  was devastated after the death of her friend Rock Hudson and decided to start fighting against AIDS

1993 Elizabeth Taylor received the American Film Institute Life Achievement Award

1997  Elizabeth  had to had a brain tumor removed.

1999 She was made a Dame by Queen Elizabeth II on New Year's Eve.

2000 she received the John F. Kennedy Center Honors.

2005 Elizabeth Taylor was honored at the British  Academy  Of  Film And Television Awards  (BAFTAs) and received the prestigious Britannia Award for Artistic Excellence.
