George Roy Hill studied in Yale and later moved to  Ireland  where he attended the  Trinity   School in  Dublin . He met the famous actor Cyril Cusak. 

He served in the United States Marine Corps as a fighter pilot during World War II and the Korean War.

1962 George Roy Hill was 40 years old when carries out its first movie "" Period of Adjustment" with  Jane   Inn .  A version of a Broadway play.

1970 George Roy Hill was nominated to the best Director Academy Award, for the film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

1974 He was awarded an Academy Award to the best director, for the film "The Sting". 

George Roy Hill taught drama at the  University  of  Yale  after retiring from his career as a director.

2002 George  Roy  Hill died  December 27, 2002  , when he was 81 years old,  in  New York
