Holly Hunter participated in a school festival, and then decided to become an actress.  At the age of 16 she was part of a group in Atlanta, and studied acting at the University Carnegie-Mellon of Pittsbugh.

1980 After graduating, she went to New York City, where she met playwright Beth Henley. Holly Hunter got roles in several plays produced by Beth Henley, such as Crimes of the Heart and The Miss Firecracker Contest.

1991 Holly Hunter debuted in the big screen, but continued doing theater. 

1993 She received an Academy Award and a Cannes Award for "The Piano", and her role of a mute wife of a New Zealand planter.

1995 Holly Hunter married Janusz Kaminski, and participated in tv shows like "Crazy in love"

2004 Holly Hunter lend her voice to "Helen Parr" in the movie "The Incredibles" , of Walt Disney

2005 American actress Holly Hunter hit out at London theatre audiences, accusing them of being disruptive and disrespectful. Holly Hunter, who is currently starring in By the Bog of Cats at the West End's Wyndhams Theatre, was furious after several cellphones were ringing during a recent performance.
