James Denton graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

1984 Jamie's career began in theater, in the production "Our Town", where he played the role - George Gibbs. He also acted in A Streetcar Named Desire.

1992 He was nominated for a Best Actor Award in Chicago.

1993 James Denton won a small part in the television series The Untouchables

1995 He acted on JAG and Sliders. Short after, he appeared in Moloney.

1999 James starred in the play In Walked Monk, that same year he acted in the television series The West Wing.

2002 Jamie Denton filmed The Pretender: Island of the Haunted, and acted in another play, Locked Up Down Shorty's.

2003 Jamie acted in Threat Matrix. His son Sheppard was born.
