Jim Carrey was born in a family of 4 children, abandoned its studies at the age of 16 and began to act in the cabarets Canadian in the night, and to work with its father during the day. Jim Carrey has revealed that his father Percy, who died in 1994, had inspired him to become a Hollywood star.

He made his professional stand-up debut at Yuk-Yuk's, one of the many local clubs in Ontario.

1984 He started working as a novice cartoonist in the short-lived sitcom "The Duck Factory"

In the movies, began doing small roles, and the "Carrey phenomenon" started in 1995 with the movie "Ace Fortuna, pet detective" of Tom Shadyac

1998 Peter Weir gave him the lead role ins The Truman Show. Playing a naive salesman who discovers that his entire life is the subject of a TV show, Carrey won a Golden Globe for the performance

2005 Jim Carrey acts in the anticipated adaptation of Lemony Snicket's a Series of Unfortunate Events. In the film, Count Olaf (Carrey) hatches outrageous plots to steal the Baudelaire orphans' vast fortune.
