Plac of Birth:  Moscow
Died, in 1944, Neuilly-sur-Seine, France
He is often associated with his fellow painter Paul Klee.

Most of his paintings may be seen at the Georges Pompidou Museum in Paris.

1886 Vasily Kandinsky studied law and economics at the University of Moscow

1896 Kandinsky declined a teaching position in order to study art in Munich with Anton Azbe.

1902  Kandinsky exhibited for the first time with the Berlin Secession and produced his first woodcuts.

1903 Vasily Kandinsky traveled all around Europe, to Italy, the Netherlands, North Africa and Paris, where he showed at the Salon d’Automne.

1909 Kandinsky was elected president of the newly founded Neue Künstlervereinigung München (NKVM).

1912 Kandinsky exhibited solo for the first time at the Der Sturm gallery in Berlin in 1912.

1923 He became vice-president of the Societé Anonyme and exhibited in New York.

1924 With Paul Klee and Alexej Jawlensky, he formed the Blaue Vier Group.

1933 He moved to Neuilly-sur-Seine

1937 Fifty-seven of Kandinsky's works were confiscated by the Nazis.

1939 He became a French citizen

1944 Kandinsky died in Neuilly-sur-Seine
