Herr parents Roger Winslet and Sally were actors as well as her grandparents Olivier and Pretty Bridges who directed a theater. 

Kate Elizabeth Winslet initiated her career at the age of 13 in television.  

1994 She acted in her first premier feature film under the direction of Peter Jackson in Heavenly Creatures in the role of "Juliet Hulme"

1997 Kate Winslet became a star after she played the role of Rose DeWitt Bukater in Titanic, the movie of of James Cameron

Thursday October 12, 2000 , at the age of 25 the actress gave birth to her daughter Mia., born in London, daughter of Jim Threapleton, with whom Kate shares her life since 1997.  He is a director assistant.
