He divorced Cindy with whom he has three children: Anne, Lily, Joe

Born in an urban suburb of Los Angeles, his father of origin cherokee and his mother Annie was a social worker. 

He has two brothers: Sharon and Dan born in 1950.

After school, Kevin studied marketing in the University of Fullerton, and then he studied art.

He met Richard Burton in a flight to Mexico, Burton advised him to follow his dream and become an actor. Kevin Costner abandonned his work and moved to Hollywood

2004 Kevin Costner directed a Western in the heart of the Western Savage, the movie is called "Open range " in which he himself interprets the role of "Charley Waite"
