Michael Winterbottom
British director and producer
Date of birth : March 29th, 1961
Place of birth:  Blackburn, England

Michael Winterbottom has a litterature degree from Oxford’s University and he has studied filmmaking in Bristol and London with Marc Evans.

His first job on cinema was as a director’s assistant with filmmaker Lindsay Anderson

1994 Together with Andrew Eaton, Winterbottom founded his own production company: Revolution Film

1995 Michael Winterbottom directed Butterfly Kiss, his first long film, with actress Saskia Rives.

1997 With hiw production company, he directed the film Resurrection Man.

1999 Winterbottom directed two films: With or Without you and Wonderland.

2003 Michael Winterbottom received the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival in Germany, thanks to his politic film In this World.  

2005 British director Michael Winterbottom participated in the Cannes Film Festival 2005.
