This year Cartier International Day celebrated its 27th anniversary of sponsorship and the Centenary of the Coronation cup.  The most prestigious and glamorous event of the British social calendar  was watched by HRH Prince Philip, Mr Arnaud Bamberger, Executive Chairman of Cartier UK and a  strong crowd of polo enthusiasts.   It featured a thrilling historic battle for the Centenary Coronation Cup between England and Brazil;  it was a close game with England ending up winning 8-7.

To mirror the impressive talent on the field, Cartier invited some 600 guests from the world of literature, stage, sport and society including Christie Brinkley, Jilly Cooper, Tamsin Egerton, Bella Heathcote, Petra Nemcova, Dan Stevens to name but a few.

As the King of Jewellers, Cartier has forged a natural and powerful association with this Sport of Kings, reviving the profile of the game. Cartier first sponsored the Hurlingham Association International Day in 1984 and never looked back, celebrating this year 27 years of successful sponsorship.  Last Sunday, Cartier UK was honoured to mark the end of its patronage of the competition with the centenary of the Coronation Cup as Cartier announced that it had signed a three-year sponsorship deal to sponsor the high-goal Queen’s cup Polo Tournament at Guards Polo Club from 2012.  Played over a number of weeks, the Queen’s Cup is a world class tournament which attracts the game’s leading players from across the globe and embodies the sport’s beauty, spirit and excellence; it can only be another perfect fit for Cartier.  Last Sunday Cartier said farewell to the International Day, only to return next June at Guards Polo Club as sponsors of the Queen’s Cup competition.
