Prince of Monaco
Real name: Louis Henri Maxence Bertrand Rainier.
Date of birth:  May 31, 1923
Place of birth: Monaco.

His mother: Princess Charlotte, Louise, Juliette, Duchess of Valentinois, born September 30, 1898 at (Qasantina) Constantine, and deceased November 16, 1977

His father:  Prince Pierre-Marie-Xavier-Antoine-Melchior, Count of Polignac, born  October 24 1895 in the Chateau de Kerscamp (Morbihan), named Grimaldi by Order in Council on  March 18, 1920, deceased  November 10, 1964.

1933 Prince Rainier III first went to school in England, at the Summerfield  College  in Saint Leonards on Sea and Stowe  School  at Buckingham.

1940 The Prince moved to Switzerland and attended the Château de Rosey College at Rolle. Later, in Montpellier, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree, followed by studies in Paris at the School  of  Political Sciences  

1944 The Crown Princess Charlotte, daughter of Prince Louis II, renounced in favour of her son, the hereditary title and the succession to the throne of Monaco. That same year,  the Prince signed up as a foreign volunteer in the French Army 1947, Mr. Léon Blum, President of the French  Republic 's interim Government, conferred him with the Knight's Cross and the Military Legion of Honour.

1949 Prince Rainier III succeeded from his grand father, Prince Louis II

1956 The Prince married Miss Grace-Patricia Kelly, an American actress he had met one year before.

1957 Princess Grace gave birth to their first daughter: Princess Caroline, Louise, Marguerite, born  January 23, 1957

1958 Prince Albert, Alexandre, Louis, Pierre, Heir to the throne, was born

1965 Birth of their third child, Princesse Stéphanie, Marie, Elisabeth

1993 Prince Rainier obtained the inclusion of the Monaco Principality into the United Nations Organisation.

2005 The Prince died on April 6th, at the Centre Cardio-thoracique in Monaco, after having being hospitalized for over one month.
