1950 Quincy began his career playing trumpet and arranging for Lionel Hampton, and later Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, Dianh Washington, Sarah Vaughan, Dizzy Gillespie, and Peggy Lee.
1956 Quincy Jones began performing as a trumpeter and music director with the Dizzy Gillespie band. He recorded his first albums as a bandleader in his own right for ABC Paramount Records.
1970 Quincy Jones suffered a brain aneurysm which avoided him from playing the trumpet.
1984 Quincy Jones appeared in the music video and was the conductor and producer of the song "We Are The World."
1991 His production company, partnered with former news executive David Saltzman, also produced "Jenny Jones"
1994 Quincy Jones received the Polar Music Award and the Royal Swedish Academy of Music Award.
