Birth date:  September 2, 1966
Place: Coatzacoalcos, Veracrúz, Mexico

Daughter of a Lebanese father and a Mexican mother, Salma Hayek began her career in Mexican soap operas and later traveled to United States to initiate a new career in Hollywood.

1995 Salma Hayek appeared in the film "Desperado", and returned to Mexico to act in El Callejón of los Milagros she was nominated to an Ariel Award.

1999 Mexican feature film No One Writes to the Colonel, which was shown at the Cannes Film Festival and selected as Mexico's official Oscar entry for best foreign film.

2003 After interpreting the role of Frida Kahlo in her film Frida, which was nominated to 6 academy awards,  Salma Hayek interpreted the role "Carolina" in the film "once upon a time in Mexico", directed by Robert Rodriguez

2003 November, Salma will act in another Western of Luc Besson, that will be carried out in Mexico.  She will interpret the role of a thief of banks, with Penelope Cruz.

2003 Salma will act in a movie written together with her brother Sami Hayek that will be entiled Murphy' s Law".

2005 Salma travelled to Mexico in order to present her new film "After the Sunset" where she acts with Pierce Brosnan
