Frank made his direct orial debut in 2007 with The Lookout, which won the Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature. The Lookout, which Frank also wrote, starred Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jeff Daniels and Isla Fisher.

Frank began his career writing screenplays for such films as Little Man Tate, Dead Again and Malice. His screenplay for Get Shorty was nominated for a Golden Globe Award and a Writers Guild of America (WGA) Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Next, Frank wrote the screenplay for Steven Soderbergh’s Out of Sight, based on the novel by Elmore Leonard. For Out of Sight, Frank was nominated for an Academy Award® for Best Adapted Screenplay and won a WGA Award. Frank’s additional screenplays include Heaven’s Prisoners, Minority Report, The Interpreter, Marley & Me and The Wolverine. Frank is currently writing a novel for Knopf Publishing as part of a three-book deal
