1989 He got his Sciences-Po diploma.


1990 Frédéric Beigbeder started writing litterary chronicles.

In 1994, he founded the "Prix de Flore" (which takes its name from the famous café in Saint-Germain-des-Prés destroyed in a bomb-blast in Bret Easton Ellis' Glamorama). The prize is awarded annually to a promising young French author. Vincent Ravalec, Jacques A. Bertrand, Michel Houellebecq are among those who have won the prize.

2002 Warner proposed him to create an album: "La Bande originale de ma jeunesse" , with all those songs that were important through his growing years.

2005 April: There is a romance flourishing between Beigbeder and Laura Smet (daughter of french singer Johnny Hallyday.

2005 As of autumn, Fréderic Beigbeder analyses new litterary works in the t.v. show Grand Journal de Canal Plus, a French TV chain.

2005 Beigbeder travels to Mexico in order to present his book “Le dernier inventaire avant Liquidation”. The most important books of the 20th century, chosen by 6,000 french readers, and commented by Biegbeder himself.
